Any person whose made a comeback in their life will tell you that indeed, it is soooooo much sweeter!
Hilary Duff is no different. She was a huge child star on the Disney channel with her hit tv show “Lizzie McGuire.” From that success, she also launched a music career which absolutely multiplied her celebrity brand. However, after she eventually reached a point in her life where other things began to become more important and it was time for her to do some soul searching…so her search for a new identity began.
Identity crisis happens to all of us. Yes…even celebrities. Hilary Duff shut down all of her businesses at one point in order to focus on her personal life and because she had lost a sense of who she was.
“It was a lot of pressure, you know?” she said. “I didn’t know what kind of artist I wanted to be… I was in a box of what people wanted me to be.” – Hilary Duff interview with Los Angeles Times.
How many of you actually go through the exact same thing? As an entreprenuer and personal brand, one of the biggest challenges is trying to figure out who you are and what kind of leader you want to be…and that’s totally ok! You will go through many transitions in your life and business where you feel a shift happening. When this happens to you, it’s important to take a step back to figure out how you’re going to incorporate that shift so you can make a strong and powerful comeback!
That’s exactly what Hilary did. She took a step back and after dealing with a divorce from her now ex-husband Mike Comrie (former NHL player), she released a new album from scratch. She didn’t have a label anymore nor did she have any written music of her own. So what did she do? She took massive action and soon landed a music label and a role on the hit TV show, “Younger.”
That’s what a Celebrity is! Taking massive action towards your dreams.
